Amnesic Shellfish Poisoning

Rapid test for amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP) from Neogen® can screen shellfish samples at the U.S. and E.U. maximum threshold of 20 ppm.

Amnesic Shellfish Poisoning (ASP) test kits detect domoic acid. Domoic acid is a marine biotoxin that is secreted by algal blooms and is found in shellfish. Once the toxin is present in the shellfish tissue it cannot be destroyed by heat during cooking.

Neogen Reveal® 2.0 for ASP test systems have everything to complete a pathogen screen, including the enrichment medium. Reveal’s lateral flow device combines an immunoassay with chromatography for a rapid and accurate one-step result. Built-in visual control lines provide definitive interpretations.
